It took an “Ultimate Warrior” to beat the Warriors in the NBA Finals, at least according to the shirt LeBron James was sporting when he returned to Cleveland with the city’s first major pro sports championship since 1964.
The shirt featured wrestler The Ultimate Warrior, who wrestled for the WWF (now WWE) in the 1980s and 90s. Its shade of blue was similar to that worn by Golden State, James’s recently dispatched Finals opponents.
James, whose Cleveland Cavaliers came back from a 3-1 series deficit to beat the Warriors for the title, proudly sported the shirt as he hoisted the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy while getting off the team’s plane in Cleveland.
